Olympic stuff...
Well I really enjoyed the Olympic coverage.I really liked the colours of the Aussie uniform (pictured) and thought the ochre red, forest green and emu-poo yellow worked well together and were visually exciting. Green and Gold is a bit ho hum, but I dont mind the total yellow of some of our athletic track suits and uniforms. It's a good shade and VanGoghian yellow has always been my favourite colour on its own as a field of colour. Red and Green are opposing colours but if you get their shades and tints right they dont jar.
	I thought this bit had the essential element - surprise! I also thought it was surreal and kind of spooky.
I thought some bits of the opening ceremony were quite funny, my biggest laugh was when they said "There's Chelsea Clinton really getting off and participating in the show", it showed Hilary looking bored and playing with the small torch in a desultory fashion. Absolute classic, thanks to the commentators, I couldnt wipe the smile of my face for an hour just thinking about how funny that was. I really dug the cardboard boxes wriggling about too, and especially the one that couldn't quite roll end over end in time with the others, I'm not sure if that was scripted but it was funny. I got on the net afterward to see what other countries were saying and I was happy to find people describing it as "weird and bizarre" which it was. I just liked the fact it was sort of relaxed and calm and not too over the top which I have disliked in some other mega productions of this nature, so it gets a thumbs up from me.
