In Memoriam our beloved Grandmother Helen Butts

Angela,Sylvia,Grandma,Catherine,Isabelle,Tom,Simon(bottom corner) and
me Grandma delighted in wearing her furs every chance she had which wasnt often with our climate, Grandma reckoned no-one would throw paint on her and she was right we never even got a disapproving glance. Grandma and I hit the big time! , Womens Weekly Dec 1992 Mum(Isabelle) in her twenties,Grandpa (Len Butts)and Grandma (Helen) looking tanned Simon's graduation Grandma looking pretty young Helen Butts receiving Lifetime membership of Elizabethan Theatre trust from Lord Mayor Sallyanne Atkinson
As you can see Helen Butts was a smiling, happy woman who was good fun to be with. She could tell a joke about fifty times better than I could and had lots of good old-fashioned stories about funny things. After her last same-age escort died I happily escorted her to many Queensland Theatre Company opening nights where she had lots of friends including Aubrey Mellor, Alan Edwards, Babette Stevens and David Clendinning and we met lots of Australia's leading theatrical figures including David Williamson, Australia's greatest playwright. Grandma was much loved by her three children, Isabelle, Sylvia and Geoff and will be missed by all who knew her. Goodbye Grandma, we loved you.
